Difficulty

niveau moyen

The Banane-Kiwi fanny pack project is ideal for beginners, with the only slight difficulty being the installation of the zipper. Although this may seem intimidating at first, but following the steps diligently demonstrates that installing a zipper is quite simple. Apart from that, it’s a relatively quick project with a very satisfying result. A dose of dopamine within easy reach!

With the instruction booklet for this model, you will learn:

  • How to sew a curve
  • How to attach a zipper
  • How to install  a buckle

Fabrics and trimmings

I recommend opting for woven fabrics (non-stretchy). Choose from cotton, linen, false leather, twill, jacquard, thick canvas with or without patterns, corduroy… the choices are endless to personalize your Banane-Kiwi bumbag. Prefer a thinner fabric for the lining.

If you do as in the exemple you will need:

  • 20/25/30 cm of main fabric respectively for the mini, midi et maxi
  • 20/25/30 cm of linning respectively for the mini, midi et maxi
  • 1 buckle for a 4cm-wide strap
  • 1 flat ring for a 4cm-wide strap
  • 1,2m of 4cm-wide strap (if you don’t want to make it from fabric) and less if it’s for a kid
  • 1 zipper of 20cm for the mini, 30cm for the midi, 36cm for the maxi
